Today was my day at New Media Expo. I woke up at 4AM and drove straight to the Las Vegas Convention Center. I got there at about 9AM and took a power nap to get the day rolling since I had been up to 2AM the night before. I went in and got some starbucks and waited for the doors to open.
Having come from Anime Expo and Comic Con this was a much different environment, a lot more networking, a lot less costumes.
Once inside I met up with LA New Media Group, my new friends and family. We hung out for a little while and then I started walking the floor. I had the most recent trailer on an iPod Touch and went around showing it people. I spoke to people at Sony, Panasonic, Mackie, Wizzard Media, Tubemogul, Podcastertuneup, etc. I think I made it to every booth in the hall.
Two amazing booths were there. Wizzard Media was incredibly helpful and had a lot of great ideas for the future. Check out their site, it’s really interesting.
The other amazing booth was Tubemogul. This concept is absolutely genius. They act as an intermediary to 20 major video hosting sites and aggregate all the statistics to one single site. I’m in the process of signing up tonight. I will keep you updated as it goes, but I would recommend everyone setup an account. It’s free and a massive timesaver.
I met a ton of other great podcasters, hosting sites, asset providers, etc. Handed out some posters and stickers and shirts as well.
Oh…and I met this girl
Didn’t really take a lot of pics
Oh, and BTW, Vegas is not a lot of fun during the day. There is a reason it’s always dark in Twinkle’s city (which is soon to be officially named)
I think theres something to this whole internet thing so I’m gonna go to an expo
It’s in Vegas, how can I pass it up. If you’re going to be there on Friday, let me know and we’ll meet up. I’m looking to do lots of networking. It looks like there will be tons of great companies and individuals there.
And besides, a very reliable, or at least deadly, source seems to think this new media thing might take off….
Apparently the Delaware Department of Information and Technology does not appreciate their schoolchildren going to our site.
First to join the Union and first to censor us.

I’m going to investigate why this exactly happened, because we are by no means porn. Sexy, yes, porn no. I’ll let you know what I find out.
Addy from AX Backstage interviewed Justin Alvarez (Tommy Dure).
One of our lovely After Dark girls, Cristina, got featured in a Playboy online article about the hotties at Comic Con.
Make sure to give her a good rating!
Comic Con was absolutely amazing this year. Tons of great booths, guests, seminars, artists, etc.
It was great meeting everyone; fans, artists, producers, etc.
We also got interviewed a handful of times by some great folks. We’ll be posting links and videos once those are compiled. They were really entertaining and I’m sure you guys will love them.
If you guys took any pics with us, make sure to send us a link. We love to see ourselves hanging out with our fans.
Wanna see the rest? Of course you do.
